Dear friends and benefactors,

We, Laura and our entire family, address you today with open hearts, full of hope and deep vulnerability. We ask for your support in our ongoing fight – a fight that began with a dramatic moment, requiring resuscitation for 50 minutes immediately after the birth of Petru, our dear baby, a moment that irreversibly marked his health.

Petru was diagnosed with severe suffering that makes every day difficult for him from the first moments of his life, namely severe global developmental disorder, epilepsy, paroxysmal manifestations with a possible subcortical substrate, pyramidal syndrome with extrapyramidal elements, acquired microcephaly and cortical visual deficit.

Every moment is a battle for a life as normal as possible, every small achievement is a huge victory.

We did not know for a month if Petru would survive, we prayed continuously for a miracle and wondered what mistakes we could have made to deserve this difficult ordeal.

Children like Petru require not only an army of warm souls, but also considerable resources to have a chance at a normal life.

Unfortunately, the complexity of his conditions makes his care needs both permanent and very expensive. Petru also suffers from a severe allergy to cow’s milk protein, which means that the special formula he needs is expensive.

His care requires specialized therapies, long-term medications, and disability equipment, including orthoses, therapeutic chairs, and sensory stimulation devices. These resources manage Petru’s medical conditions and significantly improve his quality of life, giving him a real chance to thrive.

Our desire is that your and our help will help the little boy move his arms and legs, reduce the pain he has from spasticity, and eventually learn to communicate and be able to integrate socially.

We are a struggling family, but financial realities overwhelm us, limiting our ability to access advanced medical treatments abroad or purchase vital equipment for our little boy’s development.
